The Daimler concern, the mother company of Mercedes producer, and Bosch, the supplier of automobile accessories unite for the creation of autonomous cars, expecting to accelerate the invention of taxi robots to include them in the driverless fleet in the future.
The agreement between the largest producer of cars of a premium class and the biggest supplier of auto electric accessories will create a great balance weight to new candidates of the automobile branch. These are Uber and Didi, which develop this kind of cars for the people preferring to use a motor cab and the rent a car than to possess their own.
This association, which will put an end to attempts of Daimler to create these cars independently, happened when the technological producers and carmakers, such as BMW, formed the competing strategic partnership in the form of alliance. The analysts created the forecast, according to which the size of the market of modern systems of autonomous vehicles will grow almost in 100 times from 2015 to 2035. Financial terms of the transaction of two largest companies are unknown now.
Bosch, founded in the year when a founder of Mercedes patented the first-ever car with the internal combustion engine, will develop the new software necessary for autonomous driving. The cooperation will happen together with the carmaker, which is based in Stuttgart.
This cooperation will give the chance to Mercedes to get a bigger part of resources at the invention of pilotless cars, allowing the concern to transfer the release of the serviceable system for independent cars to earlier term date.
The system of an independent control will be presented at the beginning of the next ten years. The dates of commercial start of motor cab robots aren’t specified. The main goal of the cooperation is to reach serviceable creation of the driving system, allowing cars to move around the city completely independently. In certain districts of the city, clients will be able to call the automated rent cars by means of smartphones. These cars will independently reach the user. The sense is that the car finds the driver itself.
